A vibrant celebration of the many clubs that comprise the Football League
Mather & Co returned to the National Football Museum to develop the new Football League 125 exhibition. Formed in 1888, the Football League is the world’s original league football competition and is the template for leagues all over the world. The exhibition celebrated this important milestone and promoted its role at the heart of the game’s history.
The exhibition was designed as a striking graphic timeline that takes the visitor through every one of the 125 years of history from 1888 to present day. It also included a vibrant rainbow display of shirts from all 72 current Football League clubs and a selected item from each club relevant to their own connection to The Football League. The end section invited today’s Football League fans to share their own memories and stories relating to their club – the ups and the downs, the local derbies, the heroes and more.
