Capturing the history and heritage of the world’s foremost tennis Championship
The award-winning Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum combines an unparalleled collection of tennis artefacts with the very best in exhibition display and audio-visual presentations. Wimbledon arguably has more history and prestige than any other sporting venue in the country and the design needed to respect and play on this rich heritage.
From beautiful object displays and interactive games to engaging films, visitors are immersed in the Championships from start to finish, right beneath where the live action takes place. A 3D ‘hologram’ of John McEnroe shares his memories and insights in a recreation of the men’s dressing room in Centre Court, in a show which combines the Victorian ‘Pepper’s Ghost’ technique with cutting-edge projection and screen technology. Mather & Co has continued a 10-year relationship with Wimbledon, creating stadium tour experiences, improved trophy displays, restaurant and café design theming, interior design, retail offers and bespoke photo opportunities around the stadium.
