Exhibition design company, Mather & Co, are currently working hard behind the scenes to support the restoration of Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings – also know as the grandparent of the modern-day skyscraper.
The new visitor attraction will showcase the incredible stories that the building has to tell in interactive and engaging ways. One of the key objectives of the project is to transform the 1797 building into a community hub, and a place where people can work, play, learn and live.
This week Mather & Co had a site visit at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings – works of the restoration are well underway.
Below are the 1840 original iron trusses from the gas retort house that will be featured in the exhibition – the project will open in Spring 2022.
