An emotional and sensory journey through the Club’s history
Mather & Co collaborated with MUSE Exhibitions of Lisbon, Portugal on the creation of the new FC Porto Museum. We worked specifically on the concept designs for the individual galleries and showcase displays ensuring that they tied in with the overall architectural development.
The 8,000m² museum features 27 exhibition galleries focusing on various themes including the club’s history, its star players past and present, national and international trophies as well as the stadia, presidents and fans. Our designs brought context to the extensive cased artefact displays using themed environments, high-tech interactivity, projection mapping and immersive audio-visual experiences. This allowed visitors to fully engage with the stories and exhibition, taking them on a unique and emotional journey through the rich history of one of the most important football clubs in the world.
Antero Henriques, FC Porto SAD’s Director-General said: “The museum provides Porto with a facility that is unique in the country and is likely to be a global reference in terms of football.”
