Telling over 150 years of history through engaging and interactive displays
Yorkshire cricket legends Geoffrey Boycott and Ray Illingworth were the first to praise Mather & Co’s purpose-built museum that captures the history of Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) at the Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground in Leeds. The exhibition, which is housed in the East Stand, tells the story of YCCC’s 148 year old history using a wide range of interactive exhibits and an audio-visual theatre.
Working with an extensive collection of memorabilia, archive film and photographs, Mather & Co captured the club’s greatest players, matches and scores in a number of dynamic showcases, several of which are portable and can be moved to accommodate conference and hospitality facilities within the museum space.
David Hall explained: “Mather & Co presented an impressive range of concepts to interpret Yorkshire Cricket’s illustrious history and demonstrated its ability to balance new technologies with historical artefacts which will appeal to a wide audience for many years to come.”
